Juan Barragan is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily with oil painting, murals and prints. Usually depicts human body, animals and landscapes in figurative style. The narrative of his works is often based on the symbolism of literary pieces, especially those with topics related to mythology and philosophy.
With a career of more than 10 years, having his first exhibition in 2007, he has ever since been present in numerous solo and group displays, including the Consulate General of Mexico, in Chicago, PRE-MACO exhibition, displaying next to pieces from Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor and Mr. Brainwash, Jose Lopez Portillo Museum and Juan Soriano Gallery, in Mexico.
His work can be found in sundry collections, including MINART (Museum of international Art), Black Coffee Gallery Collection, National Museum of Mexican Art and CJV Museum; also, in private collections in Guadalajara, Mexico City, Chicago, New York and Luxembourg.
