Josephine Lally

Gallery VICTOR is thrilled to include cast iron sculpture by Josephine Lally, a recent graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, in Creature Feature. First presented at this year’s annual SAIC BFA exhibition, Lally’s suspended flock of birds brings a dramatic sense of motion, tension, and atmosphere to the gallery. Though cast in iron, the birds appear caught mid-flight, hovering between weight and movement, fragility and force. With their dark metallic surfaces, clustered wings, and cinematic arrangement, Lally’s work transforms familiar animal imagery into something haunting, theatrical, and wonderfully unexpected.
